Wet polishing does not have to be a mess!
Use only enough water to leave a vaseline like slurry behind each machine pass. Note, not enough water will wear the pads excessively, too much water creates slurry runs around your workspace creating more cleanup than necessary. Lower grits will require more water though actual water needs are always based on concrete hardness & porosity.
Your most important step is 50 grit, post this step you should not be able to see scratches in the floor from a standing position. Kneeling on the floor, you will see the fine 50 grit scratches.
100 Grit removes the 50 grit scratches. Kneeling, you should no longer see any scratches in the concrete surface.
Post 400 wet, you will see a nice low reflective matte finish on the concrete. 800 grit wet will increase the gloss but a final high gloss finish most often needs to be acheived with a seperate dry 800 or higher resin pad.
